Job # 2

I started working at this chiropractors office a couple weeks ago. Just as a small side job to get extra cash while I'm slow at work. I am just a receptionist there Mondays and Thursdays. It's not too bad. I don't mind going to work. I mostly just answer phones, set up appointments, deal with insurances and all the fun stuff. I get to wear scrubs which I'm not going to lie, is kind of nice. It's like wearing p.j.'s except I do have to go to FHE in them. After FHE I go hang out so I'm in scrubs from like 6 or 7 in the morning until 12 or 1 at night. I mean I guess there isn't much I can complain about since scrubs are pajamas but I definitely get sick of being in them by the end of the day. One of my first days I was there, some weirdo guy came in and told us he gets his drugs off a canadian website and then the next time he came in he was totally covered in dirt. We wonder if he killed someone and buried them. We don't ask question.
I had so speak the Sunday before last. Which was AWEFUL!!! I was supposed to speak for 10-12 minutes. Ya I spoke for 5. I planned a 10 minute talk but apparently I was talking super fast. That's what they get for asking me to speak. That same Sunday I got a calling. Primary teacher. Yes, there is a primary in my singles ward. When I first started going and found out there was a primary I told everyone "I better not get called into primary, I don't even have kids," but now that I know people I think it sounds like the greatest calling ever! I don't know what age group I will be teaching. There is only 2, younger and older kids. But I am super excited for it.
I love this picture, Carson doesn't seem to like me very often but when he does we have so much fun.
This is my friend Braedan. He is going on a mission to Roseville, CA. I am so happy for him, he really is probably the best guy I know.

Ice Breaker Questionare

So someone sent this to me via facebook and I thought it was kinda funny. These are "icebreaker" questions to ask on a date. Maybe if I had these 90% of my dates wouldn't have been awkward.

*When is your Birthday: June 19, 1989. Same day as Garfield!
*What was your nickname in high school: Barbie
*What do you do for exercise: Spin and kick boxing, maybe if I told guys that they wouldn't act lame sometimes.
*What is on your bedside table: Picture of Ella, Kylee, Kirsten and I; Scriptures; Miracle of Forgiveness; car keys; necklace; empty gum pack; notebook.
*What is your best Halloween costume: Either Poison Ivy or a Ninja Turtle; both homemade and both Bad A$$!
*If you could be any cartoon character what would it be: Jessica Rabbit, Have you seen her? She is bangin!
*Where is your favorite Hiking trail: Mount Timpanogos. That is totally spelled wrong
*Name a singer you can't stand the sound of: Miley Cyrus, I here her voice and I throw up in my mouth
*Coke or Pepsi: Definitely Pepsi unless it's diet and then I'm a coke fan
*If you were to perform in a circus what would you do: Stick me head inside the lions mouth.
*What is the best restaurant you ever ate at: In N Out!
*What's your favorite Holiday: 4th of July, it's warm and there are fireworks
*Tell me about your first road trip in your first car: Let's see, drove up to Salt Lake in my bug with Tia and Kylee. Got a flat tire. Stranger helped with flat tire. Tia and Kylee gave stanger address and phone number. Took my car to the shop. Walked 2 miles to hair show. Awesome.
*If you could get free air fare, what country would you visit: Idaho, I know it's a state but I want to see Alan, Kiersten and Bri and have you met the people from Rexburg, they are practically from another country.
*What is your favorite curse word: It depends on the moment but damn is always good; hell works and on occasion S**T.
*What's your favorite smell: The smell of a salon or the smell of a car or boat when it revs its engine, I have no idea what that is called.
*What is your favorite cereal: Trix, they are for kids
*When was the last time you fired a gun: On a date a few years ago. Why I let some strange guy take me out shooting, I don't know.
*Have you ever gone skinny dipping or streaking: I went skinny dipping last week for the first time and streaking no.
*What body part to you get caught looking at the most: On me or another person? On guys I look at their wedding ring finger. I don't like flirting with married men. I wish there was a gay finger I hate hitting on gay men as well.
*What is your favorite food: Chicken rolls, flaming hot cheetos or corndogs.
*Do you like to dance: Oh yes. Jodi says I don't have any rhythm but she has never seen me drop it like it's hot.
*What was your favorite childhood T.V. show: I really like Barney, I was always so disappointed when I would turn it on and it would be over. My kids will never have to suffer that heartbreak thanks to DVR.
*Are all people truly created equal: People are created equal but as they grow up some people need to be kicked in the nuts or beheaded AKA Obama and Rosie O' Donnel
*What is your favorite season and why: SUMMER!!! Hello tans, shorts, flip flops, everyones a lot sexier in the summer!
*What makes you laugh: I think the list wouldn't be shorter if I was asked what makes you not laugh, Dad's gas would be on that list.
*What shocks or offends you: I grew up in a house with 5 boys, Chance and Ian are my best friends. Nothing shocks me and people who tell me girls suck offends me. Someone should junk punch them.
*Do you have any pet peeves: Woman you try to make their daughter grow up too fast, if your daughter is 8 she does not need highlights; when someone says something funny and then 3 seconds later they say "I was like..." ya I know I just heard you; guys who pull up next to me and try to get me to roll down my window, Do they really think I'm going to give them my number?; half black girls that don't like me, I feel like that happens pretty frequently.
*What is your ideal of an ideal boyfriend: Active LDS, funny, hard working. oh ya and not a freaking girl, please don't make me wear the pants, I just like controlling the zipper. Ha ha just kidding. Just about the zipper part not about the wearing the pants part.

*Have you ever eaten children: Yes that is a real question on here. If some guy asked me that on a date order the most expensive thing and then leave without eating it.
*What "bad" thing did you do as a kid that your parents never found out about: I told my parents everything when I moved out but up until then. I snuck out of my house; I was really 13 when I got my first kiss not 16. When I was in 6th grade I quit reading club to play spin the bottle at lunch, I really don't think I ever told my parents that.

Welcome 2010!!!

So I made a goal to be better on updating my blog for the 2 people who read it. Kiersten and and Kylee. At least they are the only 2 who ever let me know that they read my blog. Anyways, I haven't done a very good job so I guess I have a lot to catch up on. The Holidays were great. Thanksgiving and Christmas were both great. Nice and chill. I've made a lot of new friends. I'm still trying to find that group that I fit in with. I've never been one who likes hanging out with big crowds all the time and I think that's what most people do here so it's really taken me out of my comfort zone. I have met a few people that I really like and have a lot of fun with. New Years was so fun. I went with some friends up to a cabin at Mount Charleston. It was a great way to start the New Year. I was thinking about all the good and bad things that happened this year so I figured I would list some of the best things that happened to me this year...

*Going to school and living with girls. I know that probably doesn't sound like much to people but to me that was a big step. I made friendships with some of those girls that I know will last a long time. They taught me so much.
*Building a relationship with Alan, Kiersten and Brilynn. They were the biggest help to me in Idaho. Kiersten was my best friend when I was up there. I told her EVERYTHING. I don't know how she handled it sometimes. It helped having Alan around, he's always been a great example to me. It helped me to know that I had a worthy priesthood holder so close. He also taught me how to drive in the snow and laughed at me the whole time. Ha ha but I love him for it. And Brilynn... she just brought me happiness. She could put a smile on my face on the worst days. Man i love that little girl. I hope we still keep that bond even though I don't live 5 minutes away from her anymore.
*Working at Charizma. I had so much fun there and learned so much. I learned to love St. Anthony and the hicks that live in it.
*Moving to VEGAS!!! I have to say this has been the most exciting thing I've done. Living in Vegas has been so much fun. I am so excited to live here and get to know people, more experience with my job, and have a stronger relationship with the family I have here!

I am so excited for this New Year and all the NEW things that I will learn and experience!
This is my friend Eddy, he was the first person to ask me to hang out. He has been such a good friend to me!
This is Nick. Isn't he cute. I think so. He has become one of my really good friends down here.
First Pic of the New Year! From left to right: Eddy, Richard, Me, Nick, Natalie.

Port Salon

So I thought I'd talk about my new job for a little bit. It's called Port Salon and it's right next to the Aliante Hotel and Casino, if you know or care where that is. I work Wednesday, Friday and Saturday for 9 - 5 or 6 depending on if I have a client or not. I am growing to love the people I work with. They have been so so nice. They are all quite a bit older than me but I think I mentioned that in my last post. I'm getting busier and am bringing in okay money. I really like the clientele base that comes in it's been really fun. I have to write about the funniest client I think I have ever had. On Saturday I had a Japanese client named Hermie. She moved here 20 years ago with her husband (who is American and was in the military) and daughter. So when I write some of the things that she said you have to say them in a 60 year old Japanese womans voice. To start off our conversation she asked me what I was for Halloween. I told her Poison Ivy and her eyes got kinda big and she said "Ooh that sexy! Oh ya Poison Ivy is very sexy!" (remember use you best Asian voice) we continued to talk and somehow the topic of marriage was brought up. She started giving me advice and said that communication was important and... "if he want to have sex, you talk about it and then you do it!" Wow talk about advice! Okay now here is my favorite part of the story. She asked to see my Poison Ivy costume so I showed her the picture of me and my friend Ian who dressed up as Batman (see last post, the story will be much funnier if you look at them first) I explained to her that Ian was dressed up as Batman, this is what she said "He no Batman! Batman sexy! He no sexy! Batman have sexy shirt with muscles! He wear no shirt and have no muscles. Cover him up! He is no sexy!" Now you can imagine how hard I was laughing at this lady and how bad I felt for Ian because some 60 year old Japanese woman just gave him the verbal beating of a lifetime even though he didn't hear it. Okay same day different story. I work with a lady name Susie, she is in her late 40's and she is Greek. She moved to the states when she was 20. Love her. She is the sweetest lady and she is very very very honest and straight forward. We were sitting in the break room with the receptionist, Julie and another stylist, Wendy. I don't know how but the topic of sex came up. Obviously I don't have much to say on the matter but Susie thought I needed to be a little more vocal. She turns to me, looks me straight in the eye and asks "are you active?" There aren't very many times where I'm speechless but that was one of them. When I told her no she continued to ask "oh so you are waiting for marriage?" my response "um yes" and her response " oh that's good. See I thought my daughter was active but she wasn't, she waited til she was engaged." I didn't know a response to that so that was the moment I went to check on my client. I had a good laugh at both those stories. But I'm loving my job and I always love to cut hair so it has been a lot of fun.

Halloween! Moving! New Job!

Okay so this last week has been a pretty busy week. First it was Halloween. I love Halloween! This Halloween was so much fun. On Friday night Me and some friend went up to Cedar for the SUU Howell, which is a big dance. I dress up as Poison Ivy and my friend dressed up as Batman. We ended up staying at my friend apartment. Since only 2 of us brought blankets we had to figure out how to fit 5 people under 2 blankets. Let's just say we went to sleep at 6 and it was the worst sleep I ever had. But is was fun. Saturday was very fun too. I think the best part was just walking around in our costumes, especially Ian. Geez I love that kid.
This is Ian. And I love him. My dad told me I look like a hooker but I have to disagree with him.
And this is my friend Kylee, she was Raggidy Ann (so cute) she wore all her own clothes that she would wear any other day, except the apron of cours.
And these are my friends Jason and Mike. Don't they look great! If you want an easy Halloween costume that looks freakin sweet, I would recomend that one.
Okay now about moving, I finally got down to Vegas. It took forever I know and so far it has been great. I really like it down here! I love getting to know Carson and building a bond with him. When he is happy he is the cutest little boy ever! He's cute when he's sad too but he is so loving and playful when he is happy! I love it. My job has been great the 2 days that I've gone. The people have been so nice. I'm quite a bit younger than everyone but they are the sweetest people. I work at a Salon called Port Salon by the way. It's been way fun so far and I can't wait to get more established!

What a Life!

Well as most of you know I am finally moving to Vegas!!! I took like 3 months but at least I'm getting there. In Idaho I didn't have a lot of time to update my blog because I worked and went to school but now that I will only be working I made it a goal to be a little better at it! So I'll start by writing about the few months I've been home!

August
Nothing really happened...

September
Nothing really happened...

October
Where do I start? I guess at the beginning. This month was by far my most eventful month! I finally got my Nevada license so I typed up my resume, printed about 15 out and headed down to Vegas for some serious job hunting. I called about 30 and 3 let me repeat that 3 salons were hiring. The first salon I went to was called Northwest salon and 2 old men worked there and no, they were not gay. The third salon I took it to was the nicest of the 3. The owner said he would be in touch, they called me and wanted an interview and I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!! Woohoo! I'm pretty stoked. We also went to Beaver has a family. It was a lot of fun. We went riding and enjoyed being away from the busy life! My mom decided she wanted to take some family pictures. This is the best one we got out of it!
Not to bad but there were about 5 billion in front of it. Now while we were taking pictures we have one pose on a teeter totter. All 5 boys were on one side and I was on the other lifted up into the air as high as the teeter totter would go. Well the boys decided to get off all at once and I came crashing down to the floor. Luckily nothing was broken!

I have been hanging out with some good friends of mine quite a bit lately and we recently went on a little adventure. We decided to take his golf cart and go through the drive through at Wend's we got some pretty dirty looks, the people at Wendy's didn't even think we were funny! I don't know what their problems are! For time sake and so I don't bore you guys with my uneventful life I'm going to end with a few pictures.

This is Mike (top) and Jason (bottom). They are some of the friends that keep getting me into trouble!

Thursday, July 9, 2009

So I think most people have heard the big news that I'm moving to Vegas. And the most frequently asked question is WHY? Why don't you stay in Saint George? Why are you quitting school. Well I love Vegas! This is the time in my life where I get to think about me and only me, and being an LDS girl who knows how long I have left of this freedom. School is just not my thing, I tried it and the whole college thing is just not for me. I like to cut hair. So that's what I'm going to do in Vegas. I'm living with Darlene and Chyler for the first little while and am so excited about it. It will be a lot of fun to see Carson everyday and I'm sure I can be a big help to Darlene when her baby comes. There are some things about leaving Rexburg that I'm not looking forward to: leaving Bri and Alan and Kiersten, and that about sums it up. It kills me to think that I won't see Bri all the time. I Just Freakin Love Her!! The other day I went to go get movie tickets for the new Harry Potter with Kiersten, when we walked in the door she ran around Kiersten and gave me a big hug. I know Kiersten didn't appreciate that too much but I enjoyed it very much. I have about 2 more weeks left up here, and only 17 more days in Idaho. WOO HOO!! I'll finally know what the sun looks like again!
We figured we would be patriotic and try to look like Uncle Sam. We also tried to be sexy with the whole "we want you" thing. As you can tell, Sexy is not a good look for me.
